Kawasaki has announced the introduction of the new 2022 model year W175 motorcycle for the Indonesian market. With the latest update, the motorcycle received new color options. The bike is now available for purchase in four colors, namely Metallic Matte Covert Green, Metallic Resplendent Silver and Ebony-Black Style. Currently, there is no bike in the Indian market that directly competes with this motorcycle.

The W175 is sold in the international market in three key variants which differ mainly in terms of styling. The model’s base SE trim takes on a conventional modern-classic styling. It comes with a round headlight with chrome bezel, teardrop fuel tank, one-piece handlebars, chunky seat, peashooter-style exhaust, and spoked wheels.

The W175 also sells in the cafe racer version which sports a small mosquito net in the front with a ribbed pattern seat and a different color option. On top of that, there’s also a TR SE variant with tall scrambler-style fenders, beefed-up handlebars and an upswept exhaust.

All of these models draw power from the same air-cooled 177cc single-cylinder engine. This powertrain was designed to deliver nearly 12.6 hp of peak power. However, depending on the variant, the torque output varies from 13.2 Nm to 13.6 Nm.

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks with gaiters up front and dual springs in the rear. And for braking, it uses a disc-drum combination. The bike weighs only 126 kg making it a lightweight contender.

Interestingly, the same has also been spotted doing test drives on Indian roads several times, stoking the flames for its India launch. However, the flames now appear to be completely extinguished as the company has no immediate plans to roll it out in the Indian market.
