British Mutt Motorcycles now ready for Filipino classic bike fans
It is undeniable that there has been an increasing popularity of classic looking motorcycles in the Philippines in recent years. This has led to bike builders and custom shops popping up left and right, and an increase in the population of retro bikes on the road.
But what if you want a bike that sports a classic look right out of the showroom? That’s where Mutt Motorcycles comes in – officially and exclusively distributed by United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI).
âWe are very happy to bring Mutt Motorcycles to motorcycle enthusiasts in the local market. With confidence, we believe it will bring a new, unique and fun dimension to two-wheeled mobility. Mutt Motorcycles is nothing less than a cutting edge brand, âsaid Erroll Dueñas, President of UAAGI.
Mutt Motorcycles was born and raised in Birmingham, UK. Co-founded by Benny Thomas and Will Rigg, the company started out as a way to bridge the gap between small-displacement motorcycles and the vintage style commonly seen on bigger bikes.
Thomas is known in the UK custom bike scene, specializing in the design, supply and build of expensive motorcycles. He and Rigg both have an artistic background, visible in the incredible attention to detail on the bikes they created.
Overall offering small engine bikes for now (125cc and 250cc), Mutt Motorcycles wants to make the custom bike scene more accessible to a wider range of buyers. Those retrolicious the bikes are supposed to be easy to ride and maintain, while offering relatively affordable sticker prices.
More importantly, Mutt Motorcycles boasts of Japanese reliability for coming up with its classic British styling. The Philippine-spec models are powered by Suzuki 250cc 4-stroke engines, known to deliver superior daily performance than most non-fat motorcycles on the road.
Mutt Motorcycles comes standard with the latest materials and technologies, such as Delphi fuel injection systems, TIG welded stainless steel, gas rear shocks, low profile aluminum bars, fork caps and CNC machined head rod nuts, Alcantara seat padding, aluminum rider and footrest, exhaust heat shields and bullet-type LED signal lights on aluminum rods.
These bikes also come with ABS for safer rides, while bespoke parts are also used to spice up the custom British look. Mutt also adds vintage details such as deep studded tires, spoked wheels, brushed aluminum mudguards and headlight grilles.
The first Mutt bikes currently offered in the Philippines are the Mastiff, Akita and Razorback. However, UAAGI plans to bring a few more over the next few weeks, namely the GTS-R, GT-SS, Mushman, Imperial Roadster, Fat Sabbath and Hilts.
Mutt bikes have sticker prices that start at P185,000, available in Matte Black, Matte Green, Silver, Gloss Gray and Raw Steel colourways. The first Mutt Motorcycles showroom is now open in Clark, Pampanga.
