Here’s a quick recap of everything that happened in and around Gillette yesterday, obtained through law enforcement reports from the Gillette Police Department (GPD) and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). .

Tobacco violation, September 7, boulevard Saunders, GPD

A 15-year-old man and a 16-year-old man were both ticketed for smoking at 8:03 a.m. yesterday after discovering they had used a vaping device on a Campbell County School District bus on the 31st. August, GPD Lt. said Brent Wasson.

Crash, September 7, Little Powder River Road, CCSO

A 32-year-old woman has been cited for not maintaining a single lane of traffic and wearing her seat belt after losing control of her 2009 Chevrolet Silverado and slipping on Little Powder River Road yesterday at 8:07 a.m., CCSO Sgt. Dan Maul said. The vehicle overturned, causing damage of over $ 1,000 to the pickup truck and minor injuries to the woman’s face, arms and hands. A two-year-old child in the pickup was not injured. The woman was also cited for lack of insurance.

Crash, September 7, Blackbird Road, CCSO

A 28-year-old man was taken by ambulance after he allegedly crashed his 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle in the driveway of a residence on Blackbird Road at 8:57 a.m. yesterday, Maul said. The man suffered a head injury and was unable to communicate clearly with MPs about what happened. Witnesses reported hearing the man running the motorcycle’s engine and seeing him lying on the ground. The man was not wearing a helmet.

A 15-year-old man was found with a vaping device at Campbell County High School (CCHS) yesterday at 11:03 a.m., Wasson said. The male has not been cited but will be cited at some point in the future.

Breach of the Peace, September 7, Kluver Road, GPD

A 15-year-old woman received a citation for physical breach of public order yesterday while driving a school bus near Kluver Road at 11:03 am for an incident on September 2 where she allegedly punched a 14-year-old woman in the face, said Wasson. The 14-year-old had bruises on her left eye.

While officers investigated a breach of the peace, three students were reportedly vaping on the same bus at 11:12 a.m., Wasson said. A 15-year-old man and two 15-year-old women were cited for smoking before the age of 21.

Flight, September 7, Donkey Creek Dr, GPD

A 71-year-old man called police at 11:47 a.m. to report seeing an unidentified woman drive to a mailbox on Donkey Creek Drive and collect three pieces of mail, Wasson said. The man said he did not recognize the woman, who was not the owner of the mailbox, or the gray 4-door sedan she was driving. The man said the woman was Caucasian, between the ages of 30 and 50, and had black hair. The investigation is ongoing, according to Wasson.

Drugs, Sept. 7 Latigo Dr, CCSO

While speaking with a man and woman, both 35, during an independent investigation into Latigo Drive, a K9 CCSO allegedly indicated on a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer registered in the man’s name. A search of the vehicle revealed 1.04 grams of suspected marijuana the woman allegedly claimed. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance around 3:46 p.m., Maul said.

Intoxication, September 7, chemin Boxelder, GPD

A 26-year-old man was arrested on charges of poisoning and carrying a concealed weapon to a liquor store yesterday at 4:32 p.m. after being reported by staff at Creative Beverages, Wasson said. Staff said the man consumed alcohol at the scene, left the company and fell asleep on the sidewalk. When they went to see him, they saw a handgun hidden in his belt and called the police. Officers contacted the man at Taco John’s and found him to be intoxicated. He had two handguns concealed in his belt.

Crash, September 7, Skyline Dr, CCSO

MPs cited a 29-year-old woman for not giving in following an accident on Skyline Drive and West Boxelder Road yesterday at 8:17 p.m., Maul said. The woman, at the controls of a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500, reportedly pulled out into traffic and was struck by a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 37-year-old man. The new pickup crashed into the 2010 rear passenger door and box, causing more than $ 1,000 in damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. The man has been cited for no insurance and the registration has expired.

Drugs, September 7, El Camino Ct, GPD

Officers responded to El Camino court last night at 9:23 p.m. after residents reported that a man knew about the doors of homes in the area, Wasson said. The man was contacted nearby on Cimarron Drive and showed signs of recent drug use. The man reportedly admitted to using methamphetamine 8 hours earlier, Wasson said, adding that the man was arrested and charged with using a controlled substance.
