Honda City Hybrid price slashed up to Rs 3 Lakh in Haryana

The Indian government has taken many measures to promote green or environment-friendly vehicles. Not only the central government but the state governments have also taken several measures to increase the sales of eco-friendly cars or bikes. Several state governments have announced several programs and tax benefits to incentivize automakers to establish their production facilities.

The latest to join is the government of Haryana which has approved its 2022 Electric Vehicle Policy. The policy offers incentives to small, medium and large electric vehicle component manufacturers and OEMs. Buyers can enjoy benefits when buying new electric vehicles.

For the first 10 years, manufacturers of electric vehicles will be able to benefit from 50% of their SGST (State Goods & Service Tax). In addition to this, manufacturers can also offer incentives of up to Rs 1 crore for setting up EV disposal facilities in the state. EV buyers will benefit from flat-rate discounts.

Local customers in Haryana can avail a discount of up to 15% on electric vehicles priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 40 lakh. The customer can avail a maximum discount of up to Rs 6 lakh. For electric vehicles, between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 70 lakh, customers can avail a 15% discount – up to Rs 10 lakh. The incentive program also covered hybrid vehicles. A flat rate discount of 15% or a maximum discount of up to Rs 3 lakh is available on hybrid cars costing less than Rs 40 lakh.

Honda City Hybrid – Price Reduction

With this policy, customers can now avail a direct discount of up to Rs 3 lakh on the new City Hybrid. The new Honda City e:HEV is available at Rs 19.53 lakh (ex-showroom), and a flat 15% discount will bring down its price by Rs 2.9 lakh. The new Hnda City e:HEV features an Atkinson cycle 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with two electric motors promising a mileage of 26.5 kmpl. The petrol unit produces a peak power of 98 hp and with electric assistance it produces 109 hp. Its combined torque output is 253 Nm. The hybrid sedan is available with a single fixed gear ratio and three drive modes – engine, EV and hybrid.
