Launch of the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 India delayed!

– Launch of the Tiger Sport 660 delayed

– Dealerships received good pre-bookings

– Will compete with Versys 650

The launch of one of the most anticipated high-end motorcycles, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 has been delayed. The company had started pre-bookings for this mid-weight sports tourer in December last year for Rs 50,000.

BikeWale spoke to a few Triumph dealers who confirmed this development. However, they were unable to say the reason for the delay. But most of them confirmed that pre-bookings went very well for this upcoming bike. In fact, dealers are very excited to sell this bike in their showrooms because they believe the Tiger Sport 660 will become one of their best-selling bikes. Its naked sibling – the Trident 660 has performed extremely well for the company and its dealers.

Styling cues for the new Tiger Sport 660 include a half fairing and high front windshield, raised saddle, integrated saddlebag mounts and underbelly exhaust. The feature list includes full LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled dashboard, two riding modes (road and rain), switchable traction control and ABS. In terms of power, this touring bike uses the same liquid-cooled 660cc inline three-cylinder engine that develops 80PS of peak power at 10,250rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm.

Once launched, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 will compete with the Kawasaki Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT in the Indian market.
