New England Honda Dealerships Partners with Boston Marathon and BAA Distance Medley as Official Vehicle Sponsor

The Honda lineup will be at the front of the pack as racers hit the trail

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) today announced a multi-year partnership with Honda dealerships in New England naming Honda as the Official Vehicle of the Boston Marathon and BAA Distance Medley. A variety of Honda cars, trucks and motorcycles will be used in various capacities to lead nearly 30,000 participants to the front of the Boston Marathon.

“We at BAA welcome Honda to our family of sponsors and look forward to seeing their vehicles at our events over the next few years,” said BAA President and CEO Tom Grilk. “BAA and New England Honda dealerships are both committed to providing a memorable and smooth experience on the roads, whether you’re racing or driving.”

Among this year’s vehicles for the 126th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 18 are the 2022 Honda Passport 5-seat SUV and Ridgeline midsize pickup truck, along with two Gold Wing motorcycles and the Metropolitan scooter. Honda vehicles will accompany the Honorary Grand Marshal along the course, along with top male, female and wheelchair professional athletes as they make their way to the finish line. Honda vehicles will also be part of the road reopening program at the end of each event.

Racers and fans can interact with Honda vehicles on display at the Boston Marathon Fan Fest in Copley Square Park and the Boston Marathon Expo at the Hynes Convention Center from April 15-17. A special Honda Distance Medley tent will be available for participants of the three BAA Distance Medley events: the BAA 5K on April 16, the BAA 10K on June 26 and the BAA Half Marathon on November 13. New Honda models will be on display for riders, volunteers and spectators to enjoy.

The Boston Marathon is the oldest annual marathon in the world, and the 126th edition will take place on Monday, April 18. Nearly 30,000 participants are expected to participate in the 126th Boston Marathon.

The BAA Distance Medley is a three-race series that takes place throughout the calendar year and is open to athletes of all ages and skill levels.
