Suzuki, KTM and Yamaha: the news of the second day of Misano
The second day of testing at Misano was marked by many novelties, after the first day the most visible novelties being on Honda and Ducati motorcycles. Stay with the news captured on the Suzuki GSX-RR, KTM RC16 and Yamaha YZR-M1.
First Suzuki, which tested a new chassis. The chassis has a new carbon fiber section which is connected to the main frame. It is believed that this change will change something in the stiffness of the bike and the way it behaves under hard braking.
KTM also tested new components. A new aerodynamic package attracted attention with a resemblance to Ducati fairings in 2019 and 2020. Additionally, a second set of “fenders” are positioned lower to the side of the bike. Ducati have tried something similar in the past so that the bike doesn’t rely so much on the weight in the headboard to be competitive, a known issue for KTM. A second dark fairing was seen on the RC16, but with the same characteristics as the first.
Another new chassis was seen on Fabio Quartararo’s Yamaha, with a silver outline next to the Frenchman’s knee. This seems to be another example of the Yamaha way of working, which prefers to change small components and improve the bike in general.
