Suzuki Motor unveils the new GSX-S1000GT Sport Tourer

Suzuki Motor Corporation launched its new sport tourer with an all new concept, the GSX-S1000GT, completely redesigned from the GSX-S1000F. From October 2021, the model will be marketed worldwide.

The new GSX-S1000GT is a touring sports car with enhanced features and functions for touring sport, inheriting the DNA of supersport motorcycles. The new model was designed for everyday ease of use, comfort and stability at high speeds during long rides. Newly adopted SIRS electronic controls and by Suzuki The first 6.5-inch color TFT LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity are the featured features for the concept. The stylistic design reflects the exceptional and daring appearance of a typical sport tourism, while presenting crisp, flowing lines that reflect its agile sportiness.

The 999cc in-line four-stroke liquid-cooled DOHC four-valve engine, delivering plentiful power throughout its operating range, features smooth torque characteristics that run linearly from low speeds to the top end, providing an exciting sensation of acceleration. The engine is mounted on a light but very stiff frame, which makes the GSX-S1000GT easier to use in everyday life, while increasing stability on winding roads and highways.

To reduce fatigue during long-distance rides, the model adopts floating handlebars, rubber-covered footrests and custom grab bars, which minimize vibrations transmitted from the bike to the rider and passenger. In addition, the handlebars have been widened and the grips have been brought closer to the rider, achieving an upright riding position more suitable for touring. Aerodynamic windshields and custom-designed seats also contribute to rider comfort.

In addition, a wide variety of genuine accessories, including those developed only for the new GSX-S1000GT, are available for customization adding more comfort and convenience.

Suzuki Intelligent Driving System (SIRS)

The model comes with various fine-tuned electronic functions such as Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) with selection from three different modes for various engine output characteristics, updated Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), now with a wider selection of 5 mode settings and the two-way quick-change system, which allows gears to be shifted up or down without operating the clutch lever.

The newly adopted cruise control system, which maintains a set speed without operating the accelerator, increases comfort on highways, etc.

Instrument cluster

The GSX-S1000GT is the first Suzuki motorcycle to adopt a 6.5 inch color TFT LCD display instrument panel. By switching the settings for Day (white) and Night (black) display modes, it maximizes visibility at all times and in any driving situation.

By connecting smartphones with the ‘SUZUKI the mySPIN ‘application installed, the cyclist can access content such as maps, listen to music * 1, make phone calls * 1, etc. The app is compatible with iOS * 2 and AndroidTM * 3 smartphones.

Styling and design

The new GSX-S1000GT has crisp, flowing lines that express its agile sportiness and aerodynamic shape. It also visualizes, through its sleek design, the intelligence functions of the bike, such as its electronic controls and smartphone connectivity.

To reduce vibrations transmitted to the passenger, the grab bars, passenger footboards, and the shape and thickness of the passenger seat cushion have been carefully designed for passenger comfort.
