Third motorcycle accident in 3 days, this time in Raymond

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of another accident involving a motorcycle, the third motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in as many days.

Tuesday’s collision took place in Raymond around 5:50 a.m. when a 1999 Kawasaki driven by Christopher Noble of Gray, 31, was struck by a 2008 Subaru Outback driven by Adam Serber of Casco.

The collision happened near 1539 Roosevelt Trail in Raymond as Serber was turning left from The Hilltop Mini Mart heading east, Capt. Kerry Joyce said in a statement.

Joyce said Serber pulled up in front of the motorbike, which was traveling west, and couldn’t avoid hitting the motorbike. Serber told investigators he had not seen the bike, Joyce said.

Raymond Rescue transported Noble to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries, Joyce said.

Two New Hampshire residents were seriously injured Sunday night when their motorcycle collided with a compact SUV in Alfred. And a Waterford motorbike rider was seriously injured on Sunday morning when he lost control of his bike and crashed into Harrison. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.
