Wilson Bank & Trust appoints new head of SBA loans

Wilson Bank & Trust (WBT) has announced the arrival of Vice Chairman Blair Smyly to lead the bank’s growing SBA lending program. Strategic hiring is part of WBT’s focus on continued growth and invaluable service to communities.

Smyly brings over 17 years of banking industry experience, including SBA lending in the Nashville, Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia markets, as well as personal and business lending.

“This effort is an important part of continuing to build and grow relationships with our commercial customers,” said Wes Taylor, senior vice president of consumer and small business lending. “Blair brings the knowledge and energy to drive this program forward as we continue to grow.”

Prior to joining WBT, Smyly worked as a commercial banker and SBA lender for Synovus Bank. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi College.

An active member of the community, Smyly is a board member of Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and resides in Franklin with his wife and three children.
